Resistivity Survey in East Glebe
The resistivity survey in East Glebe was undertaken during July 2022 over a period of 4 separate days.
The survey revealed various anomalies over the site – higher
resistance eg walls, floors, foundations and stone built underground structures
appear as darker areas and lower resistance, such as pits, ditches and
waterlogged areas appear as lighter coloured areas. The site clearly falls into two parts; the section of the field lying to the
west of the wood shows clear and regular anomalies while in the southern
section of the field, the anomalies are less clearly defined and more
ephemeral. There was no change in technique, equipment, or weather over the
four survey sessions, so it can only be concluded that the difference between
the northern area which runs gently uphill towards the north and the
lower-lying southern area is due to archaeological features and underlying
geology.
More detail and analysis will appear in the Reports section
in due course.
