Friday 31st July Jug Handle and Mystery Object

The weather continues to be very warm, sunny and dry. The ground conditions are not great, being so hard, but it's so full of stone and rubble, it's possible to excavate with small hand picks to access slightly softer soil underneath. Lots of finds again today from trenches TR47 and TR50. Pam found another Green Glaze jug handle base, see photograph below. This will be at least the sixth or seventh green glazed handle of different form, which may indicate a higher status occupation during the medieval period. The other photograph show a mystery wrought iron object found in a medieval context. It has a pyramidal head and a hook the opposite end and is about 45mm long. Any suggestion what it might be?
