We're alway looking for connections and alignments in the landscape and the artefacts, things that may point us the right direction about the past dwellers, their objects, time line and the story. This is purely hypothetical, but two Romano British copper alloy artefacts, a modified pendant coin and an armlet or bracelet are both commonly found deposited as grave goods and these two are on opposite sides of a ditch feature we found in Trench TR45. We haven't found identifiable human bones within the ditch but the proximity of the two objects to the ditch and the common practice of Romano British to bury their dead in ditches , especially in a rural setting makes this worthy of recording for future possible reference. See the objects below and the trench plan showing the ditch and where the object were found.
