Spoil heap finds

I mentioned last week a couple of really interesting and quite beautiful small finds. The button, was found by metal detectorist  Karen while checking the spoil heap, as part of the processes to maximise archaeological recovery, after removal of the turf and topsoil.  The lead or possibly pewter artefact is stunning and has decoration on both sides, this was recovered again from the topsoil but this time while levelling an infilled trench.
