A Warm And Sunny Dig Day At Last

Friday the 24th April proved to be an almost perfect day for digging in the Glebe Field. Bright and warm  sunshine but the soil was quite hard. However, some amazing finds including some spoil heap finds after Karen went over with her metal detector.

.       .

Zillah, in TR47,  uncovered this amazing 'needle bodkin' post conquest arrowhead designed for armour piercing, but could be used for hunting?

Pam and Catherine found these huge nails and a knife blade in  a medieval context in TR47.

Mary L. found this complete heel plate in TR50 probably 19th century.

A good day for ferrous objects .Spoil heap finds to follow.
