Game changer in TR46

We were back on site today and uncovered more of the wall structure in TR46. The wall is 800mm wide and at the moment we have about 2m. exposed. It appear to be built on a rough rubble foundation and importantly it aligns with a similar structure found 15m. to the west. This internal dimension is classic for a middle to low status post Saxo Norman dwelling but its early days to assume they may be associated. The  problem is a paleo channel between the two sections of wall may mean the bit in between is washed away. However, this is a 'game changer' as we may have a dwelling further east than expected. We have datable material from the wall and close to the wall so we're confident we're in a  Saxo Norman context, more on this later.

One very exciting artefact that has turned up near the new wall is the remains of a sandstone roof tile. This is the first found with the peg hole complete in five years of digging in the Glebe and of course raises more questions.
